NQHeritage@JCU Special Collections Repository Launch

On Wednesday, 2nd of September 2015, JCU libraries launched the NQHeritage@JCU.

NQHeritage@JCU is the online Special Collections repository of James Cook University Library. It aims to promote discovery, access and preservation of a growing selection of rare and fragile materials of cultural and historical significance to life in North Queensland and the tropics. NQHeritage@JCU allows patrons to view select items from our Special Collections online.

Online digital copies allow access to items of a fragile and rare nature without placing them at risk of damage through direct handling. These digital copies also allow the JCU Library to expand the reach of our Client Service Charter which includes the aims to reach out to our user communities, to promote the Library as both a virtual and physical learning community and, to embrace our role as collectors and custodians of the intellectual record.

This collection is growing, and more items will be added to the repository over time.
