Jeans for Genes Day - 7 August 2015

Have you noticed a sudden increase in the amount of people wearing denim today and wondered why? It’s that time of year where everyone, everywhere pulls out their blue jeans (or black or any colour really) and help support kids and genetic research for childhood diseases. It's offically Jeans for Genes Day!
Where did Jeans for Genes Day come from though? The first Jeans for Genes Day happened way back in 1994, after 1993 saw that $1 Million needed to be raised ASAP for research at the Childhood Medical Research Institute. After many hours and lots of ideas thrown around, Jeans for Genes Day was the winner, why not get everyone to donate for wearing their jeans on the first Friday of August and get some celebrities involved to help push the campaign. Result… Success! In 2 years the goal of $1 million had been reached and Jeans for Genes Day has been continuing to raise much needed funds for over 20 years for children’s health.
