UTOPIA: Free Screening and Panel discussion – May 14 (Townsville and Cairns) 5pm to 8pm

JCU’s Social Justice Cluster will be screening the documentary film by John Pilger, UTOPIA (Trailer) and a discussion panel with local community members will be held after on Wednesday May 14  at both Townsville and Cairns.

In Townsville at Education Central Building 134  (the new one) and in Cairns at A21.002, JCU Smithfield, 5-8pm.

The stolen generation, health, poverty, child safety, genocide and the media are the focus.
 

This the first screening for the School of Arts and Social Science, Social Justice Cluster researcher, Dr. Theresa Petray says Utopia is a "great opportunity for us to open up some discussions about Indigenous inequality and, more importantly, what we can do about it" (read more). 

This is a free community event, it’s a chance to explore how we can use our skills and resources to work with community members’.
